VINEYARD
Located in the Los Arboles district, at the foot of the Andes at 1150 meters in Tunuyán, Uco Valley, south of the capital of Mendoza. Among our neighbors are renowned wineries such as Salenteín, Flichman, Chandon, La Rural, Andeluna, Casa Petrini, La Azul, among others. Our estate extends over 75 hectares, with 50 hectares of vineyards and 10 hectares of forests and productive centuries-old olive trees.
Our sandy calcareous soil, at the foot of the highest peaks of the Andes, crossed by a natural stream and with access to ancient water 160 meters deep, in layers caused by the thaws in the high mountains. The soil is rich in minerals and offers excellent permeability and aeration, ideal for growing vines.
We enjoy a temperate semi-arid climate with rain in summer and persistent snowfall in winter. The average annual temperature is 14.2ºC. Our proximity to the Andes Mountains, just 10 km away, ensures optimal conditions for growing the vine, with low temperatures during the maturation months that improve the quality of the wine.
Our 4,500 plants per hectare, more than 17 years old, are drip irrigated and trained using the Alto trellis system. The harvests are manual and the least amount of interventions necessary is used to preserve its naturalness. The farm has 7 km of internal roads, modern agricultural machinery, staff housing and equipment storage facilities.

LAS PLAYAS AND LAS MONTAÑAS
Seventeen years after the creation of Ikal 1150 Gran Reserva, the new generation presents Las Playas and Las Montañas.
Las Playas, our top-of-the-line wine, and Las Montañas, our reserve. Two new lines that complement Ikal 1150 with a philosophy in mind: the most honest and authentic expression of the terroir. With minimal intervention both in the vineyard and in the winemaking process to preserve the unique characteristics of Finca Ikal and its evolution from harvest to harvest.
Every decision is thought out to achieve the most genuine typicity of the fruit. Plots were selected with especially calcareous, mineral and light soils, alluvial on river stones in a sandy silty matrix. With a minimalist treatment in the care of the vine, canopy and thinning, manual and early harvest in the early morning using 17kg bins, and placement in the tanks by gravity. The tanks are made of concrete (some covered in epoxy) and a pre-fermentation maceration of 48 hours is carried out in cold in brief contact with the skin of the grape, the use of its yeasts exclusively indigenous to the fruit and the respect for its flavors, aromas and natural balances of alcohol and acidity, without corrections, Post-fermentation maceration, without the intervention of additives, with conservation of 4 months in the same tanks, resulting in a fresh wine low in sulfites. In the case of Las Montañas, they spend 10 months in second-use French oak barrels. Las Playas does not go through wood.
Low-alcohol, fresh wines, fluidity in the mouth and a lot of typicality of the fruit, composing a genuine expression of terror.
